Profile of G. Allen Akaba

Allen AkabaMr. G. Allen Akaba is Chief Physiotherapist at the 37th Military Hospital in Accra and the President of the Ghana Association of Physiotherapists. Mr. Akaba received his professional training in Romania at the School of Paramedicals Studies and the Institute of Physical Medicine, earning a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1979. Allen’s professional career includes ten years as a lecturer at the Kaduna Polytechnic in Nigeria. He also served as Senior Physiotherapist at the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Nigeria before returning to Ghana in 1998. He was a Key Paper Presenter at the 2005 Conference of the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sports, African Congress.

Mr. Akaba is a member of the Editorial Board, Nigeria Special Education Journal and ABUTH Physiotherapy Journal. His other professional association memberships include the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy, Nigeria Association of Special Educationists, and World Confederation of Physical Therapists.
