Profile of Sylvester Parker-Allotey

Sylvester Parker-AlloteyMr. Sylvester Parker-Allotey is Ghana’s Deputy Chief of Mission for Spain. Prior to this post, he was the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Ghana Mission in Geneva; he has been a diplomat with the Ghana Foreign Servicesince 1987.

In addition to his service with the Ghana Diplomatic Corps, Mr. Parker-Allotey also has extensive managerial experience in the private sector. He was the General Manager, Training and Public Affairs, State Construction Company (Accra, Ghana, 1985-87); African Regional Co-ordinator & Observer Representative for Pax Romana to UNEP and U.N. Habitat (1980-85); and Deputy General Manager, Pan African Shipping Company (Tema, Ghana. 1978-80). He was awarded the Pan African Writers Association Patron of the Arts Award for meritorious services as the first Director of Administration of the Pan African Writers Secretariat (on secondment from the Min. of Foreign Affairs).

A member of the Ghana Institute of Management, Mr. Parker-Allotey earned his B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science (1978) and M.A. in International Relations (1991) from the University of Ghana, Legon; Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations (Sofia, 1988); Post Graduate Certificate in Diplomacy (Oxford University, 1995), Certificate, Management of State Owned Enterprises (The Sorbonne, Paris), Certificate, Public Relations Courses, (MDPI).
